Civic Power 2023
On 8/25 - 8/27, ILARJ participated in Civic Power: Challenging 50 Years of Mass Incarceration.
At Civic Power 2023, we heard from dynamic speakers who are working on the frontlines to guarantee voting rights for all system-impacted voters, including persons completing their sentence inside and outside of facilities.

Desmond Meade provided the Keynote at the Civic Power 2023 Convening!
State, national, and transnational partners from nearly 30 states, the District of Columbia, and Chile joined us in Chicago. The Civic Power convening team included staff from The Sentencing Project, Chicago Votes, and Stand Up America.
DePaul University’s Think Tank at Stateville joined us for our first plenary.
ILARJ and Stand Up America led a breakout fishbowl session on “Tackling Difficult Questions.”
