The Alliance Endorses The People’s Response Act

The Illinois Alliance for Reentry & Justice signs on as an endorsing organization to Representative Cori Bush’s The People Response Act. We strongly believe that our current strategy for dealing with public safety is not working for BIPOC and poor communities. The failure of this strategy in achieving true public safety in BIPOC and poor communities is evidenced by the fact that these communities have been disproportionately ravaged by current public safety strategies. It’s high time we tried a new approach. It’s high time for the People’s Response Act.
